Itinerary

Day 0 (Phnom Penh – night time)

Phnom Penh International Airport > Phnom Penh City

Day 1 (Phnom Penh)

Phnom Penh City

Day 2 (Phnom Penh)

Choeung Ek Genocidal Center > Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum > Phnom Penh City

Day 3 (Phnom Penh – Siem Reap)

Phnom Penh > Siem Reap

Day 4 (Siem Reap)

Angkor Archaeological Park Day 1 (Preah Khan > Neak Poan > Ta Som > East Mebon > Pre Rup > Lunch > Banteay Kdei) > Siem Reap City

Day 5 (Siem Reap)

Angkor Archaeological Park Day 2 (Sunrise > Angkor Wat > Angkor Thom > Bayon > Baphuon > Phimeanakas > Sras Srei > Preah Palilay > Lunch > Chau Say Tevoda > Thommanon > Ta Prohm > Angkor Wat) > Siem Reap City

Day 6 (Siem Reap)

Can consider visiting the following temples that lay within the Angkor Archaeological Park but at a further distance away:

  • Banteay Srey (37 km away)
  • Phnom Kulen (50 km away)
  • Kbai Spean (49 km away)

(But unfortunately I was down with food poisoning so the whole of Day 6 was spent resting in the hotel.)

Day 7 (Siem Reap)

Siem Reap City > Siem Reap International Airport

Cost of Trip / Budget

I did not manage to keep track of the expenses incurred during the trip, but an estimated total including air tickets (SGD 600), lodging (SGD 255), insurance (SGD 40), transport, entrance fees, food and shopping, it should range around SGD 1,200 to SGD 1,300 for the both of us. Do note that we are pretty budget and localised travellers – we eat street food/local food as much as we can and we did not do much shopping during the trip.
