Notes and Budget
We booked a tour from a tour agency in East Java and made some amendments so that we covered all these places above. I will say this is a sunrise tour of East Java. Except for Day 1, we would visit sites in the morning then spent the afternoon on the bus travelling to the next location (as you can see from the map, the locations are quite far from each other and the roads can be quite mountainous). We only stopped for lunch and an occasional drink. We did not do any shopping (we didn't buy anything from the city tour in Day 1), so if you'd like to do some shopping, you will need to arrange with the tour agency.
The tour costs us USD 340 per person (minimum 4 person per tour), which covers the transport and fuel costs, entrance fees, costs of a guide in Borobudur and Mt. Ijen, lodging, and tax and service charges. The air tickets costs us about SGD 200 per person (note that airport tax is not included when we booked the air ticket for the flight back from Surabaya to Singapore, hence we had to pay it at the airport). I did not manage to keep track of daily spendings, but it's minimal as we spend them mainly on food and drinks, plus the horse ride to Mt. Bromo.
