The alcohol I have at home…
So this time round I decide to host again and set my theme to be alcohol – because I have the tendency to buy liqueurs/liquors whenever I come back from a trip at the airport and I always can’t seem to finish using the them! This theme will definitely “force” me to look for new recipes to try. 😉
By the way, do you know there is a difference between liqueur and liquor? Lqueurs are sweetened spirits with various flavors, oils, and extracts, such as Baileys, Kahlua, Cointreau etc. Liquor, on the other hand, is an alcoholic beverage made of grains or other plants which is fermented into a potent drink, such as Vodka, Gin, Rum etc. They are different so don’t use them interchangeably! Cooking or baking with alcohol is interesting because it oftens adds a distinctive flavour without making us tipsy. So do join me this month in the Boozy-liciousness, I have a few delicious and boozy recipes that can be found here, and below are some of the guidelines to the challenge!
Who can join?
Everyone and anyone! Even if you don’t have a blog, you are welcome to join too, just submit a photo and the recipe of your bake and I will post it in the round-up.
How to join?
Bake or cook something with at least 1 tablespoon of alcohol – be it liquor, wine or beer, all are accepted as long as they contain alcohol content (meaning no artificial flavouring allowed!) and you used at least 1 tablespoon of it.
Blog about your boozy recipe between 1 December 2013 to 31 December 2013.
Your post must include the recipe or link to the original recipe. If you are using a recipe from a book, please include the title of the book too.
Any entries that are posted outside the date range will not be accepted.
Any entries that do not include a recipe or link to the original recipe will not be accepted too.
Please mention that you are submitting your post to Aspiring Bakers #38: Boozy-licious (December 2013) hosted by Jasline of Foodie Baker and provide a link back to this post HERE.
